Description

The 39th annual Pow Wow Days 5K/10K/1 Mile Fun Run event takes place in Tomahawk in conjunction with their annual Lion's Club 4th of July celebration. It starts in Memorial Park on the banks of the Wisconsin River and proceeds through the east side of the city.

In the 10K (an out and back course) there is one major hill and a few curves on the course as it follows along the Wisconsin River upstream on Kings Road, passing by historic Kings Dam just before the turn around at Kings Hill.

The 5K course is a looped course that traces the race route of the 10K runners along the river on Kings Road for the first half of the race before turning to the south, cutting across the grass of the school district (for approx. 400 meters) back onto School Road, past the world famous Harley Davidson plant on Somo Avenue and back to the finish at Memorial Park.

The 1 Mile Fun Run is set up as a family event with awards for all finishers 12 years old and below. The race course for the 1 Mile Fun Run starts and finishes in Memorial Park and is a looped course including some of both the 5K and 10K race route.

The 39th Annual Pow Wow Days race in conjunction with the Lion's Fourth of July weekend is one of the oldest races in the northern part of the state. The 2015 event had a record number of entrants at nearly 700! Register early on-line to save $$ and guarantee yourself a Pow Wow Days commorative T-Shirt!!
