- The Eastern Panhandle Conservation District (EPCD) District Dash 5K and 1 Mile Fun Walk is meant to encourage healthy lifestyles and a healthy environment. Conservation districts are local units of government established under state law to carry out natural resource management programs at the local level. Education is a critical element of the conservation effort at the local, state and national levels. EPCD believes that educating youth ensures that the next generation will be wise stewards of America’s natural resources. Proceeds from this event will benefit local environmental and conservation education programs.
