2016 LVVS 5K Road Race:

On Saturday May 21st, Literacy Volunteers Valley Shore (LVVS) will hold its “9th Annual Backward Mile and 5K Run/3K Walk”. Registration for the races begins at 7:30 AM at the Essex Town Hall, on West Avenue. The Backward Mile race, open to runners older than 18, begins at 8:30 AM; the 5K race and 3K walk both begins at 9:15AM. T-shirts will be given to the first 100 runners. Runners below the age of six can participate in the Lollipop Run, which begins at 8:50 AM. All Lollipop runners will receive lollipops.

Directions

From New Haven, CT:

Take I-95 North to Westbrook, Exit 65. Turn Left off the Exit onto CT-153 North. Follow CT-153 North for 4.8 miles to West Avenue. Turn Left onto West Avenue and right into the Essex Town Hall parking lot.

From New London, CT:

Take I-95 South to Exit 69 (use the two right lanes) to access CT-9North toward Essex/Centerbrook. Continue on CT-9N for 3 miles. Take Exit 3 for CT-154, turning left toward CT-153. Take the first right onto CT-153 and follow for 0.2 miles. Turn left onto West Avenue and right into the Essex Town Hall parking lot.

From Hartford, CT:

Take I-91 South to Exit 22 South to merge onto CT-9 South toward Middletown/Old Saybrook. Follow CT-9S for 25.6 miles to Exit 3 for CT-154 toward CT-153 Essex/Westbrook. Turn right off the exit and dollow for 0.3 mile. Turn left onto Middlesex Turnpike (CT-153) and follow for 0.4 mile. Tuen left onto West Avenue and right into the Essex Town Hall parking lot.
