5 Mile Run for Independence

• 2 Mile Run/Walk:- Run 2 Miles or Walk 2 Miles
• 5 Mile Run:- Run 5 Miles, No Walkers Please

- The Merced Running Club and Buhach Colony HS Cross Country team is proud to announce the 2016 Run for Independence in Atwater, CA.  This event is the first of a day-long, family friendly celebration of our national independence.  The 2 mile and 5 mile races both start at 7:30am on Monday July 4, 2016.  Packet pick up and race day registration begins at 5:45am and closes at 7:15am near the corner of Grove/2nd St. across from the finish line archway.  An awards ceremony will be held near the finish immediately following the conclusion of the 5 mile race.  Stick around and enjoy the Independence Day Parade and the Food and Crafts Fair at Ralston Park.  All just one block away from the finish line.

The Merced Running Club is a proud sponsor of Buhach Colony HS and, through it many events, awards multiple scholarships to local student/athletes.  Each year, the MRC accepts applications from graduating seniors that have participated in either XC, Track, or both running sports.  If you are a returning participant in this event, we welcome you back and invite you to bring a friend or family member and enjoy the race, the parade, and the fair at Ralston Park.  See you at the race!
