This is the 17th year of an off road triathlon being held in Richmond, VA. XTERRA started the trend and we couldn't see it go away! The trails around the James River, in downtown Richmond, has hosted the XTERRA East Coast Champtionships events and the Off-Road triathlon Nationals!
This years event, while not part of any series, will be hosted on many of the same trials as in past years. We will be staging the event at Historic Tredegar, which allows it to be central to the swim, bike and run courses!
The event will also offer live post race music, beer garden and food (food trucks tbd).
Course Info
Triathlon:
1/2 mile swim: The James river swim will start at the tradidional location right near Historic Tredegar.
12 mile mountain bike: The mountain bike will take you on a loop across to Bell Isle, Buttermilke, Forest Hill Park and after completing Buttermilk you will return via North Bank.
5 1/2 mile trail run: You will start on the north side if the river at Historic Tredegar. The run will take you across the James River and after hitting a some trails on Bell Isle you'll continue to the south side of the James where you'll hit the famous Buttermilk trail. You'll end up looping around and return along the James River and returning to Historic Tredegar for the finish.

Trail Run:
The JRTR will be a trail run of about 5 1/2 miles. You will start on the north side if the river at Historic Tredegar. :The run will take you across the James River and after hitting a some trails on Bell Isle you'll continue to the south side of the James where you'll hit the famous Buttermilk trail. You'll end up looping around and return along the James River and returning to Historic Tredegar for the finish.
