Run For The STARS is one of the largest 5K races in the Chicago Metro area. Last year's race featured well over 800 registered participants. The route is a USATF certified course that takes you through a beautiful, tree-lined residential neighborhood around Wheaton College with a few moderate hills.
Run For The STARS has a great course, fantastic bib raffle and grand prizes, and everything you have come to expect in a first class race - like electronic timing and tech shirts. But did you know that we run for the STARS, individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities? They aren’t just “special”—they are STARS! Last year Run For The STARS provided recreation and training opportunities for over 100 STARS and respite for their families. On race day the STARS and their families will show their appreciation by being course marshals and cheering you on as you go by. Then you can cheer the STARS on as they run in the Dash for the STARS. STARS will hand out the medals and thank you for your support of this race and all it means to them.
