Plans are underway for the Down Syndrome Society of Wichita’s 2016 Buddy Walk, planned for October 8th. This special community event promotes acceptance and inclusion for individuals with Down Syndrome. This is the primary event for the Down Syndrome Society of Wichita, a 501(c)3 organization that provides education, advocacy, and support for individuals with Down Syndrome in South Central Kansas. In 2003, the first Wichita walk was held, attracting 100 walkers and raising $100. The event has grown to attract over 2,500 participants and the 13th annual Buddy Walk will allow these programs and services to continue.
