• 5K Run:- Run 3.1 Miles

Come out to Trail Creek Park in Athens, GA and run or walk in the Walking in our Ancestor's Shoes 5K presented by Rites Of Passage.

Rites of Passage is a non-profit organization that provides a variety of workshops, trainings, and cultural enrichment activities for youth to safely crossover into adulthood to become active and responsible citizens in their community. This run/walk event is in remembrance of our ancestors, ensuring our youth grow strong in their prospective cultures and heritage. 

Event details and schedule

Race day registration and packet pickup begins at 7AM

5K starts at 8AM

Awards: Overall Male and Female, Masters Male and Female, 3 deep in standard age groups beginning with 10 and Under to 75 and Over.

Shirts and Goodies: Short Sleeved shirts are guaranteed to those who register by 7/6/16. Those who register after that date and on race day are not guaranteed a shirt or size.  There will be plenty of refreshments.

Series Affiliation: The race is part of the 2016 Black Bag Race Series.

Other Info: In case of rain, the races will go on.  Delay of the start may happen in case of severe weather in the area at race time.  If severe weather continues, then the race director or local authorities may make the call to cancel the race at that time.  Sorry, no refunds.
