Heartland Endurance Sports has once again teamed up with Autism Speaks to host a run, in Noblesville on July 3rd, 2016. This chip-timed, USA Track & Field Sanctioned run will take place at Promise Road Elementary, and will include a 5K, and a 10K option, plus a 2.5 kilometer youth run and fun walk. All athletes will receive a dry-blend t-shirt, custom race bib, and a finisher’s medal. Proceeds from this event will go to benefit Autism Speaks.

Autism prevalence figures are growing
Autism is the fastest-growing serious developmental disability in the U.S.
Autism costs a family $60,000 a year on average
Autism receives less than 5% of the research funding of many less prevalent childhood diseases

The proceeds of this race will benefit Autism Speaks, and their efforts for awareness, fundraising, science, and advocacy for those with Autism.

Autism Speaks was founded in February 2005 by Bob and Suzanne Wright, grandparents of a child with autism. Their longtime friend Bernie Marcus donated $25 million to help financially launch the organization. Since then, Autism Speaks has grown into the world’s leading autism science and advocacy organization, dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for autism; increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders; and advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families.
