Race number pick up will be available the Friday night before each race at FITniche in the Lakeside Village from 4:00-8:00pm. Please note our course has changed. Runners are to stay in the road and off the path until reaching the first mile marker. Running in the road for the first mile will give all of our runners more space to run in the critical first mile. The extended road closure will cost us a bit more, but we are excited to deliver a better running experience.

Event details and schedule

The Summer Sunrise Watermelon Race Series was born out of a desire to have low-cost local races during the hot summer months, when it can be hard to stay motivated. Now (2016) in its 21st year, the series has become an established venue for competition and an annual celebration of fitness. It continues to be popular with both experienced and casual runners alike. Many of the local high school cross country teams use it as a tune up for their season. The series is comprised of four 5K (3.1 mile) races. All four are run around Lake Hollingsworth, which is flat and conducive to fast times.
