Approximately 4,600 children in the U.S. are diagnosed with brain tumors or brain cancer each year; and the outcomes can be devastating. The Tumor Trooper Run/Walk helps the Georgia Chapter of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation provide critical programs to help families during this extremely difficult time. Services include:
- The Butterfly Fund, an emergency financial assistance program that helps with rent, utilities, groceries, gasoline, car insurance and repairs, medical items not covered by insurance, funeral expenses, and much more. Especially important when parents must take unpaid time off from work to care for their child, the Butterfly Fund assists families in AL, FL, GA, KY, LA, MS, SC, TN, and MA at a rate of $425,000 per year.
- Information and education for parents at the time of diagnosis.
- Emotional and social support; networking for parents.
- Funding of research projects to improve treatment options and search for a cure.
YOU can be a Tumor Trooper for countless children who must endure surgery, chemotherapy, radiation and so much more as they battle this disease. Please join us on our crusade to Cure the Kids!
