Burgers & Beer has been a Universal Sole tradition for over 7 years! It started as a grass roots event from Universal Sole's Lakeview store to bring people together for an easy fun run of 3 or 5 miles coupled with craft beer and burgers from various Lakeview neighborhood bars! It has always been about bringing the Chicago running community together! A lot of folks wanted a race as well and here we are in our 5th year! One monday night, in July, we invite you out with your fellow runners and enjoy a quick 5k run in the city followed by Shake Shack Burgers & Begyle Breweing beer to follow in our post race beer garden! We have also invited some other guests to join us in the beer garden so stay tuned for more details!

Race Benificary, Girls In The Game: 

Since 1995, Girls in the Game, a 501c3 nonprofit organization, has emerged as a leading girls' health and fitness organization in Chicago. Every year, Girls in the Game empowers more than 3,500 girls to make healthier choices and develop the confidence and leadership skills they need to succeed on and off the field. Girls in the Game provides and promotes sports and fitness opportunities, nutrition and health education, and leadership development to enhance the overall health and well-being of girls. Sign Up for the B&B 5k Team Competition! This is easy! The Team/Group/Company with the largest turnout for the July 18th, USOLE Burgers & Beer 5k will receive a special team barbecue hosted by Team Universal Sole, Begyle Brewing, Shake Shack & Red Bull Cate! Later in 2016 (Location, Time, Place is TBD and will be announced soon)! It is easy to get a team registered! When individually registering, you can instantly create a team and then any folks that sign up can designate that team as the one they are running with! Winning team will be announced on race day! Bring out your team, co-workers, etc and go for the win @ the Team Competition @ The USOLE Burgers & Beer 5k Presented by Shake Shack! Questions? Email: [email protected] team competition details!

Race Details:

• All participants registered will receive entry into the 5k, a custom Burgers & Beer Church Key bottle opener (see photo on this page), one Burger prepared by Shake Shack & one complimentary brew from Begyle Brewing! The first 250 registered will also receive a custom Burgers & Beer Pint Glass! *Veggie burger option available as well*

• Option will be available for non-runners to purchase a Burger & Beer on-site @ Soldier Field.

• Course will be a flat, fast & fun out and back 5k course starting @ Soldier Field, headed south on lakefront path to 31st and back.

• Race will begin @ 7pm! On-site check-in/registration will begin @ 5:00pm and close promptly @ 6:30pm! If checking in on-site, please bring your registration & ID
  

• Gear check will be on-site @ The Universal Sole Tents.
  

• If you are registering day of the race, the entry is $50 and can be paid by cash or credit card only.
  

• Water and NUUN Hydration Drink at the Start/finish area! In addition, there will be (1) aid stations on course.

• Clif Bars, bananas & other goodies will be provided along with other goodies from our sponsors (in vendor area)!
  

• Parking Info: Soldier Field has plenty of pay parking lots.
  

• Public Transportation: The CTA has bus routes that stop at Soldier Field! Please visit http://www.transitchicago.com/ for more information.
  

• DIVVY has two bike stations right at Soldier Field.

Packet Pick-up: Packet pick-up will be available on race day. Pre-race packet pick-up will be held at Universal Sole in Chicago (3052 North Lincoln Ave.) at the following times: 

• Thursday, July 14 from 12pm-8pm

• Friday, July 15 from 12pm-8pm

• Saturday, July 16 from 12pm-6pm

• Sunday, July 17 from 12pm-5pm

• Monday, July 18 from 5:00pm-6:30pm (RACE DAY @ Soldier Field)

Post Race Beer Garden: Once the run is over for everyone, head back over to Soldier Field where our title sponsor, Shake Shake will be cooking up plenty of delicious burgers for all participants. For those looking for a veggie option, we will have that available for you as well. Begyle Brewing is our official beer sponsor! All participants will enjoy one free complimentary brew from Begyle's selection of great craft brews! We will also have Virtue Cider out sampling along with some other craft brews as well (TBD, stay tuned!)! You will have afixed to your race bib a ticket for one complimentary burger & one complimentary brew! Additional beers will be available for purchase on-site. The post race raffle will be held following the awards.
