Description

Join us in 2016 as we celebrate the Literacy Network's 25th Annual Run for Literacy!

Your participation in this annual event raises money to provide educational resources to low-literate adults in Dane County who are seeking to improve their reading, writing, and English skills.

Join us as we walk, run and jog through downtown Madison and the UW-Madison campus with over 600 of our closest friends to help adults in Dane County gain literacy skills. Adults who join the Literacy Network's programs are achieving their goals of financial stability, improved employment, stronger relationships with the healthcare system, and the ability to support their children's education.

Course Info

You won't want to miss this course! The 5K Run and 10K Run course begins near the corner of State and Gorham streets and go through the UW campus along Lakeshore Path before returning back to State Street. This is an out-and-back course.

The 5K Walk course begins near the corner of State and Gorham streets and meanders through the UW campus before returning to State Street.

Note the the 5K Walk course will follow a different route than the running courses. However, all participants will start and end at the same location.

Directions

Parking is available in the lots in downtown Madison. The State Street Campus garage (415 N. Lake Street, Madison, WI) is the closest to the start and finish line of the event.

Other Info

Runners who sign up for the 5K run or the 10K run will be chip timed. Timing chips are a part of your bib. Your bib must be worn on the front of your chest to be correctly read at the start and finish line. Do not bend your bib or the attached chip. Timing services will be facilitated by an outside company but you are responsible for appropriately wearing your chip to get an accurate read. Details about your timing will be posted at the finish line and will be updated periodically. You will receive an official email from our timing company after the event.
