Register and help support Equal Access Birmingham through the Heart and Sole 5K and Fun Run! Equal Access Birmingham is a medical student run free clinic in downtown Birmingham that provides free health care and education to uninsured members of the Birmingham Community.
Registration will close Thursday 8/18 at 10PM
There will be registration the morning of the event for $30
Packet pick-up for the event will be Friday 8/19 at The Trak Shak Homewood (2839 18th St S Homewood, AL 35209) from 11AM-5PM. Packets can also be picked up the morning of the event!
The race will begin near the UAB Campus Green, continue towards George Ward Park, and then loop back towards UAB on 11th Avenue. Following the race, we will have food and drinks! There will also be a short health fair post race with screenings and give aways by health and exercise related community groups!
This is a family friendly event and runners and walkers of all levels are welcome! There will be a Kids Zone for children of participants! Registration includes a race packet and t-shirt!
When you sign up, be sure to join a team! We have a teams for different departments in the hospital including the Dept. of Medicine, Surgery, Ob/Gyn, Emergency Medicine, Neurology & Psychiatry, Pediatrics, and many more! If you work for one of these departments, are an MS3 or MS4 on service, or just want to support the dept, then join their team! The department with the most participation will be awarded a prize!
If you are an MS1 or MS2, be sure to join your respective team! Any MS1 or MS2 who registers for the 5K will be entered into a raffle for a prize after the event!
