Calling all running, walking, Route 66, and local history enthusiasts!

On Saturday, August 20, 2016, Mapping McLean DBA CORE of McLean, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, is holding our 3rd annual 6.6k (4.1-mile) run/walk to benefit the community of McLean, IL. All proceeds will go to local projects, with the focus on a new mural that will be painted on one of our historic downtown buildings from August 17 to 20, 2016.

Event details and schedule

Kick It Off!

Join us on the square the evening of Friday, August 19, for festivities that will include:

• Great live classic and current rock and country music by Last Minute Fire (6 to 9 pm).
• Scrumptious eats and drinks.
• A firsthand look as artists create our exciting new mural!

A Sweet Start

• Parking will be provided in McLean in the open grassy lot just north of the Shell station/McDonalds (401 S Main St). (No race parking will be available at Funks Grove Pure Maple Sirup.)
• Shuttle service to the start line will be provided from 6:15 to 7:15 am.
  
• Check in between 6:30 and 7:30 am at Funks Grove Pure Maple Sirup and take a pre-race shot of pure maple sirup for some extra energy! A commemorative shot glass will be provided in your swag bag!

Get Ready, Get Set…

• The race will begin at 8 am on historic Route 66 near the entrance to Funks Grove Pure Maple Sirup and continue along the Mother Road, ending near the village square.
• At the finish line, you can pick up your t-shirt, swag bag, and free refreshments.

Let’s Celebrate!

After the race, proceed to the square, where you can:

• Get your photo taken in front of our custom backdrop to prove you got your 6.6!
• Dig into some tasty post-race grub provided by Nacho Mama’s Grilled Cheese food truck and another vendor TBD.
• Groove to live classic and current country, rock, and pop music by County Line (8 to 11 am).
• Cheer along as awards are given for the best times in each age group.
• Find a new friend for life from Wish Bone Canine Rescue, who will have adoptable dogs and puppies ready to meet you (8:30 to 11:30 am)!
• Slurp a delicious “route” beer float from a cool commemorative mug.
• Watch as talented artists paint a beautiful new mural on one of our historic downtown buildings.
• Test your skills on vintage arcade games at Arcadia: America’s Playable Arcade Museum.
• Check out some awesome classic cars (10 am to 2 pm).
• Rock to the oldies with live music by J108 (12:30 to 1:30 pm).

• Register by July 15 to take advantage of a reduced pre-registration fee of only $35 and to guarantee a t-shirt.
• After July 15, the pre-registration fee will be $40.
• Day-of registration will be available for $50.
• Fee includes:
  • T-shirt are unisex sizes, dri-fit material; for returning participants, note this is the shirt style from 2014 NOT 2015, but there are no ladies sizes.
  • Lunch ticket for your choice of Nacho Mama’s Grilled Cheese food truck or another vendor TBD
  • Commemorative shot glass
  • Vehicle window cling
  • Voucher for $3 free play at Arcadia: America’s Playable Arcade Museum (located on the square)

You Don’t Have to Run to Get in on the Fun!
