Every day over 300,000 people in the United States drives drunk and less than 4,000 are arrested.

Anytime Fitness Greenwood in hosting this Obstacle Course/Inflatable 3K/5K event as a fundraiser to support MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Drivers) SC and the Greenwood area.

In 2009, Anytime Fitness owner Angela was severly injured in a hit/run accident by a drunk driver. She survived but was stuck in a vehicle for over an hour and had to be cut out resulting in having surgery for a broken femur. After 3 months of physical therapy and an additional 6 months of personal training she could resume some of her former fitness duties at Anytime Fitness, unfortunately every day many victims do not survive.  

According to data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, South Carolina is the worst in the nation in regard to the percentage of traffic deaths involving drunk driving.  Your participation in this event "and" hopefully your additional donation will help Anytime Fitness Greenwood support MADD continue to fight this problem in Greenwood as well as throughout the State of SC.
