This is CureSearch for Children's Cancer first annual 5k and 1-mile fun run/walk in the Sarasota and Manatee County Area. CureSearch raises funds through philanthropic donations from individuals, special events, corporations, private foundations, sponsorships, and cause marketing. My name is Candace Powell and I am the event coordinator; I am also a survivor of pediatric cancer. From 3 months of age to 3 years I was undergoing many chemo treatments and fighting for my life. Please join me on this day to help raise money and awareness for pediatric cancer, so that other children may be able to win the battle against cancer like I did. 

Event details and schedule

Hello Athletes! 

I cannot wait to see and meet you all on August 13th. Check-in will open at 7 am and our opening ceremonies will begin at 8 am. The first event of the day will be the 1 mile fun-run and walk starting at 9:15. After the participants have completed the mile, the 5k will begin at 9:30. We will have closing ceremonies at 10:30, attendees are free to play the games and enjoy the food and refreshments during their free time.
