The 3rd annual Race for Recovery 5k and 1 mile is the only fundraiser solely benefiting Patsy’s Place Transitional Home. The program assists our area women in overcoming the overwhelming obstacles they face immediately upon release from county jail or prison. Patsy’s Place offers a home, food, shelter, clothing, educational classes and training in behavioral, spiritual and financial practices. When a woman graduates from Patsy’s Place, she has the skills she needs to live, work and contribute to our community.
The course is set for Thompson Park, offering a picturesque walk/run surrounded by trees and two lakes. The setting is atypical for the Texas Panhandle and ideal to enjoy time outdoors with walkers and runners of all ages. Join us for pre-race festivities including a fun warm-up routine. After the race, enjoy music, food and fun events to celebrate your support and how you have affected the lives of our area women and their families!

What to wear
The morning weather should be cool and comfortable with temperatures becoming warmer as the day continues. Athletic clothing and comfortable running/walking shoes are best. A hat and sunscreen are advised to avoid skin damage while outdoors. Be sure to check the weather before the event.
Prayer station
Near the information booth, you will see a “prayer station.” This optional booth is simply to join with others who will pray with you over a particular need or a general prayer. It is by the grace of God that we can join together for a fundraiser such as this and we are blessed to share it with you.
