Firefighter 5K Run...

It's BAAcckkkkk!!!!

Inroducing the SECOND year of the Firefighter 5k.   

This year the course will be like the last because 1. we're not creative enough to map out something new, 2. we love torchering you with our hills, 3. the trail portion is da' bomb yo, we couldn't bring ourselves to eliminate that for more pavement, and 4. how often do you get to lead a parade with hundreds of people cheering you on.. yes you, just you, they are there for you (don't tell your buddy, it's our little secret). 

Packet Pickup will be at the "Labor Day" pavilion in Austin Park (on Austin Street) in Skaneateles on Saturday Sept 3 from 4-6pm and September 4 from 11am-3pm.  We'll have a discrete table set up between the BBQ chicken and the beer.  Can't miss us... it's like that song "which one of these is not like the other...".   

The race starts at 4pm Sunday in front of Austin Park on State Street, if you're not sure where that is just look for the long line of parade participants and stand in front of them.. you'll be in the right spot.  There will be at least 2 water stations on the course.  All participants who register early (before Aug 20) will receive a snazzy athletic shirt that fits juuusssstt right; procrastinators can choose from what's left and may wind up with equivalent sized night-shirt or crop-top.  

Awards will be given to the top 3 finishers male and female as well as the top 3 Age group winners both male and female; In addition we will randomly draw bib numbers to give away prizes to other participants who worked just as hard to complete their individual race.

The Skaneateles VFD is solely funded by donations and fundraisers like this. The 5k event, like the Skaneateles Fire Department, is made up of all volunteers.  Know that 100% of the funds raised will support the Skaneateles VFD and by extension the immediate and surrounding communities they serve.

Packet pickup: Austin Park, Austin Street, Skaneateles (outside old ice rink), September 3, 4-6pm or September 4, 11am-3pm

Same day registration available at packet pick-up.

Race Start: 4:00pm Austin Park, State Street

Race End: Austin Park, Skaneateles Firefighter's Labor Day Event.

For experienced runners looking for a PR this is a USATF registered course.

There will be multipe water stations on the course.

Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place male and female finishers, top 3 age group finishers,  and one "bulldog".  A bulldog is not defined by speed, but by their courage to toe the line and accomplish their goal to finish the race.
