1-mile Fun Run & 5K Glow Run - An energetic and family-friendly event centered on providing opportunities for families and friends to get outside, enjoy nature, encourage and celebrate with one another. Runners will give chase to Special Guest Coles County Sheriff Jimmy Rankin as he leads the pack of GLOW runners for the 5K race!

Following the 5K prizes and awards will be given, and refreshments will be available for the event participants.  All proceeds will go to the Coles County Council on Aging Family Caregiver Resource Center "Grandparents Raising Grandchildren" Program. 

Event details and schedule

Parking for the Coles County Cop Chase is available at the LifeSpan Center and Dial-A-Ride lots, along Loxa Road and 800N where available.  Please bring a valid form of ID and printout of your registration form for check-in. Check-in for individuals registered for the events will begin at 6pm and close at 7:15. The 1-mile Fun Run will take place from 7:30 to 8pm. The Glow Run 5K main event will begin at approximatly 8pm.  

We encourage all runners to wear colorful or neon-colored clothing.  Come decked out and ready to glow to compete in the " GLOW BIG OR GLOW HOME" best dressed contest.  Event shirts are provided to pre-registered participants at no additional charge. At the conclusion of the race there will be an awards ceremony held at the LifeSpan Center along with refreshments for all event participants. Glow gear and various neon items will be available for purchase prior to the beginning of the race. 

5K Race Route: begin heading north on Loxa road from the LifeSpan Center. Event participants will then turn west on to the Lincoln Prairie Grass Trail and continue west until they reach the halfway point for the race. They will turn around at that point and head back to the LifeSpan Center to complete the 5K!
