You're Not Alone 5K Run...

• 5K Run / Walk:- Run 3.1 Miles

Welcome to the 1st Annual You’re Not Alone 5K (Run & Walk). This run/walk is to help raise awareness of suicide and suicide prevention and to support those who have suffered a suicide loss.  This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Crisis Center who is dedicated to help raise funds to recognize and support the volunteers of the Alachua County Crisis Center.  Crisis Center volunteers provide our community with services and support for people who are in distress, struggling with loss, and/or in suicidal crisis.  Each volunteer completes a rigorous 60 hour training program and receives ongoing training, support and educational opportunities to further their learning and professional growth. Crisis Center volunteers provide over 40, 000 hours of services to this community each year.

Friends also supported the building and now maintenance of the Survivors of Suicide Memory Garden located in The City of Gainesville’s Cofrin Nature Park.  The Survivors of Suicide Garden offers a place of healing and solace for those who have suffered the loss of a loved one to suicide. The garden offers a natural landscape, sacred sanctuary and artistic symbols all meant to connect to those who are on the journey towards healing after losing someone to suicide.

Registration with shirts will be available until August 27th 11:59pm!  

Packet pick up will begin at 6:30am on Race Day

Run ~ Walk will begin at 8am.

Parking will be available at Cofrin Nature Park (limited space)  and additional parking will be at the University City Church of Christ next to Cofrin Nature Park. 

Here is the link of the course. It is a road Run  ~ Walk done along two major roads (8th Ave and 43rd St) and into neighborhood surrounding Cofrin Nature Park.
