Running In Circles: Alabama State Championships

- This year is Run #1 for Running In Circles, with State Championships in 24, 12, 6, 3 and 1 Hour Individual Runs; 24 & 12 Hour Relays.
Running In Circles' purpose is three-fold, 1) Be the best timed event in the Southeast, 2) Be a signature tourist event for Cullman, Alabama and, 3) Be a significant, annual funding resource for nonprofit(s).
Money raised in 2016 will be divided between two exceptional nonprofits: 1) Bethany Village, an exciting new addition to Camp McDowell in Winston County, AL, designed specifically to accommodate those who are physically or mentally challenged from Cullman County and others across Alabama , and 2 ) Knapsacks for Kids, a project to make sure kids who need free or reduced meals at school Monday through Friday also have something to eat Saturday and Sunday.
RIC is a fast course that circumnavigates a beautiful lake. Runners will enjoy running through huge pines on one side of the lake and open sky on the other. The entire course is well lit with street lights at night to eliminate the extra weight and bother of wearing headlamps or carrying flashlights. This beautiful course is 1.12791 miles of hard surface that takes you ‘round and ‘round Sportsman Lake with only 24' of elevation change. The course is certified (Certification Code, AL16011JD) and each run is Certified by USATF as an Alabama State Championship!
