CASA programs across the country host family friendly run/walk events to raise awareness about the extraordinary work of CASA volunteers advocating for abused and neglected children in Family Court. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) volunteers are true superheroes who make a difference in the lives of our most vulnerable children.  You can be a Superhero for our volunteers and our CASA children, by coming out and participating in our Superhero Run, or by considering a sponsorship or making a donation. 100% of funds raised will allow us to continue our mission of advocating for abused and neglected children in Steuben, Chemung, and Schuyler counties. Your contributions help us to raise awareness, train more volunteers, and serve more children. CASA of the Southern Tier, Inc. is committed to doubling our corps of volunteers by 2020 to support every child we possibly can in need of assistance from a CASA volunteer.

Every child needs a hero but abused children need SUPERHEROES!  Join our fight and enjoy a morning of running and family fun.  Now is your chance to BE A SUPERHERO!!

STARTING POINT  
Kinsella Park Off Canada Road, Painted Post, NY

 
5K/1K COURSE
Start east on Canada Road, along Robert Dann Drive, Aurene back to Kinsella Park.

Both the 5K Run/Walk and the 1K Family Fun Run will start and end in Kensella Park near the picnic pavilion.  Course will be well marked with personnel responsible for traffic control on the course at key intersections.  Water stations will be available on the course.

 The safety of all participants and spectators is a priority.

TEAM SIGN UP (Ends 9/17/16)
 Participants have the option to form teams, whether they be corporate teams, community teams, 
 or fundraising teams for CASA. The formation of teams will be available to everyone during the 
 registration process. Take note, that if you are registering for yourself, you will have the 
 option to either:

              1) Join an existing team 
              2) Create a new team that is available to the public 
              3) Create a team that is password protected to you and your team members. 

Each team is required to have a Team Captain who can assign him/herself during the registration process. If you are registering for another person, you only have the option to put that participant on an existing team. So gather up your friends and family, break out those costumes, form rivalries, this is one Superhero Race you do not want to miss! 

Join our SUPERHERO CHALLENGE!

Check out our Superhero Fundraising page! You can create your own page to make an even bigger impact on the fight against child abuse as an individual runner or as a team!  Participants have the opportunity to obtain FREE entry for the Superhero 5K by individually raising $100 or more.  All Superheroes or Superhero Teams that raise over $500 will be inducted into the CASA of the Southern Tier Justice League Hall of Fame on Race Day!!

AWARDS & PRIZES

- First 100 registered receive a t-shirt.  Additional t-shirts will be available for purchase on the day of the event. 

- Children 12 and under registered by 9/5 are guaranteed a free CASA Superhero Cape! Available after 9/5 while supplies last

- Prizes will be awarded for 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd place by age group for the 5K.  All Superheroes running in the 1K Fun Run will receive a child’s finisher medal.
