The Henderson County Young Life 5K Bun Run/Fun Run is held the same day as the Uncle Fletch Davis Hamburger Cook-off in downtown Athens, TX. The race is a 5K Trail Run that winds through the beautiful woods of East Texas as well as provide some scenic hill top views that will allow you to see for miles. This race is perfect for the beginning runner/trail runner or the seasoned veteran who is looking for a fun training run. It is single track for most of the race with a few open areas to pass other runners. The course has been designed by a group of seasoned trail running veterans and will not disappoint.
Prior to the main race there will be a fun run that will be approximately 1K and will include fun obstacle for kids ages 5-12 years old.

8:00---Trail Briefing
8:15---Kids Fun Run
8:30---5K Trail Race Begins
9:30ish---Awards Ceremony
9:45---Pack up and head to the Hamburger Festival!!!
Arrival and Parking Information:
(Location of Event) The Bun Run will be held at the Frank Johns Ranch which is located one mile north of Downtown Athens, on Loop 7 and Hwy 19 North (Northwest Corner of Hwy 19 and the Loop)
As you enter the property look for parking attendants who will guide you where to park. Parking will be very close to the Start/Finish Line in an open pasture.
***At check in you will be asked to sign a waiver and show your ID, once that is done you will receive your race T-Shirt and Bib #.***
Aid Station:
There will be plenty of food and drinks at the Start/Finish Line, as well as an Aid Station at the half-way point of the course.
