Description

Celebrate the end of the season at one of Chicagoland's largest half marathon & 5k events. The event offers a relatively flat, scenic, USATF certified paved course. There is also a 5k Run/Walk for those who want to participate in something a bit shorter. The course is conveniently located just off the Rt. 53 and I-90 Interchange.

Course Info

The USATF certified course runs though scenic prairie and forest, over bridges, and by an Elk Pasture. The course is almost all asphalt paved surface. Miles will be clearly marked. Water stations and port-a-potties will be provided along course as well as medical service at the start and finish line. This event is chip timed. Your bib contains your timing chip. You must visibly wear your bib on your front across your stomach to be electronically timed.

Runners and walkers can participate in this event as long as the participant can finish within the event time limit (see event schedule).

All participants are required to read and sign the event waiver form to be considered a participant. See registration page for event waiver.

Monitored gear check will be provided. Pick up and drop off will be at the start/finish area. The event is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.

It is the participant’s responsibility to make sure that they do not impair their ability to hear and detect present or potential hazards and dangers.

During hours of operation the Forest Preserve District of Cook County is always open to the public unless otherwise noted by the Forest Preserve District of Cook County. Please visit the Forest Preserve District of Cook County website for forest preserve rules and regulations.

Water stations include water and sports drink.

No dogs. No Strollers.

The event will start rain, snow or shine. The event could be delayed due to lightning.

In late November weather and trail conditions can be variable. There could be a potential for ice or snow. It is the participant's responsibility to take proper caution.
