A Runner's Circle presents the BELLARMINE-JEFFERSON OPEN RACE! We welcome you to this longstanding tradition, a historic event that was exclusive to high school cross-country athletes for 37 years. In 2011 Coach Jim Couch, the race director, opened this once-closed course to the public and is now on its 6th year and counting!

The challenging 2.94 mile trail course serves as the arena in which approximately 4,000 high school athletes strive for the gold every year, making this Griffith Park's longest standing event. The event organizers have now opened the event to runners who wish to brave this course, sharing in the spirit of competition and tradition for 43 strong years.
