Description
It's that time of year again, and the dogs are loose at Rock Creek Park in Dawsonville. On September 24 you'll have a chance to Help the dogs out by participating in the Inaugural 5K & Fun Run. Tech shirt, Overall & age group awards, dog friendly, music, fun, loads of great stuff will be waiting for you after you finish a super fast 5K course.
Event details and schedule
| New for 2016 | Not ready for a 5K? Try the 0K! Yup…you read it right…a 0K. Bring a lawn chair and set up at the finish line and enjoy the show as all the runners head out and return all sweaty. We'll provide you with a race shirt and a number…no awards though. |
| Event Beneficiary: | Proceeds from the event go to the Dawson County Humane Society, a NO kill shelter dedicated to finding homes for the homeless dogs & cats in Dawson County. |
| Event Schedule: | 8:00 am...check in opens. 9:00 am...5K starts. |
| Entry Fee & Registration: | Registration for the 5K is $25, and participants that are registered by 9/18 are guaranteed a race shirt in their size. Registrations after that will receive a shirt while supplies last. Race day registrations are welcome for $5 additional. |
| Course: | We may be racing in North Georgia but this course is Pretty flat & Super fast! So whether you're coming out to set a PR, or just coming to get your glow on, you're guaranteed to have a good time! |
| Awards & Goodies: | We have awards for the overall M/F, overall masters M/F, and the top 3 in each of the normal 5 year age groups 10 & Under through 75+. Awesome race shirts (guaranteed in your size if you register by 9/18, afterwards they're available while supplies last. We're even brining some glow in the dark goodies for everyone. |
| Have a dog that likes to run? | It's a Dog's Day at the park. You can bring your pooch to run the 5K or the 0K. We'll be handing out awards to the fastest dogs too! |
| Five Star Championships & Turkey Trot: | All participants will automatically qualify for FREE entry into the Five Star Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot. Top finishers will also have the opportunity to earn a spot in the championships to be held on Dec 11, 2016. The number of spots available is based on the total registration...see event website for details. |
| Event Courtesy Policy | Our events are designed to be fun and for the entire family. With that in mind any competitor, spectator, parent, volunteer, or sponsor, exhibiting unsportsmanlike conduct or interfering with the positive, competitive atmosphere of the event will be asked to leave the venue and course immediately with no refunds. |
