The Run For Learning 5K is an annual five kilometer race that began in 2014 as a way to raise awareness of and funds for Grayslake, IL preschools. This event is intended to provide a competitive race for athletes of all abilities as well as a family friendly atmosphere of community. Since the first race, the focus of the Run For Learning 5K has expanded to become a race that raises funds for licensed, early-education centers (providing preschool and/or kindergarten programs). Proceeds from this annual event will go to teachers at licensed early-education centers in Grayslake, IL and the surrounding area communities through a grant process.

The 3rd annual Run for Learning 5k walk/run/kids fun run takes place on Saturday September 24th for those of you who love a family friendly event. Between the 5k, 1k, and kids fun run along with kid friendly activities, it is sure to please everyone in the family. Bring friends, neighbors, and family for a fun filled family fun morning.

Event details and schedule

With the help of our school families and the surrounding communities, we hope to promote a strong foundation to the beginning years of our children’s education. Please come out and join in celebrating our children.

Food and beverages provided to all race participants post-race as well as fun, educational activities for all ages!

This event will be a professionally timed event with each participant’s time available after completion of the event.

On the day of the race there will be a period of open registration from 7am to 8am. The cost for registration on the day of the event will be $30.00.

5K will start at 8:30 with the 1K starting immediately at the conclusion of the 5K (around 9:30). Kids Dash will be at the conclusion of the 1K.

We will have an award ceremony at 10:00 AM Age groups 10 & under and then 5 year age groups up to 65+. Come out for a fun family day!
