This event honors the memory of Matt Hupp, a passionate athlete who lost his battle with Burkitt's Lymphoma at the age of 13. All proceeds benefit the 12 Oaks Foundation, providing funding to keep kids involved in sports and community activities when their family is faced with financial hardship due to cancer treatment.

Event details and schedule

Join us for the 7th annual Matt's Mile and 5k run plus a new addition, the 10k. A beautiful run on the trails through Prairie Crossing. 

Kid's Mile begins at 5:00pm, 10k begins at 5:20pm and 5k at 5:30pm. Location is 960 Harris Road Grayslake, IL 60030. Parking available across the street in the Prairie Crossing Metra Station.

All race entries include entrance to the after party - food, beverage and music!

Registration Information:

Registration will be limited to 750 runners.

Registration Prices:

Mile (13 and under): $25

10k and 5k: $35

Event Only $15

Day of race registration accepted (with $5 upcharge per event), but will close promptly at 4:45pm.

All registered participants will receive a food and drink ticket for the evening. Dinner provided from 6:00-7:45pm. Drinks available until 9:00pm. Extra tickets will be sold for beverages.

Awards

Awards ceremony will be held at approximately 7:00pm.

All runners who beat Matt's time will be enteres into a special raffle. Times to beat are:

1 mile time: 6;13

5k time: 21:27

Medals are also given for winners of the following age brackets (5k): <10, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65+

Packet Pick Up:

Race packet pick up will be at Aspire Planning Group, 960 Harris Rd. Suite 2B, Grayslake, IL on Friday September 23 from 3:00-7:00pm and on race day from 3:30-4:45pm.
