15th Annual Captain Gerald F. DeConto, USN Memorial Scholarship 5k Run/Walk ~ Results...

• 5K Run / Walk:- Run 3.1 Miles

NOTE NEW START LOCATION as of 2015. The 5K starts with a brief memorial tribute at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday September 25, 2016 at Stop & Shop Plaza 65 Rt. 6A in Sandwich, MA. The course is a scenic 3.1 mile route around the Sandwich Marina and beach area finishing back at the Stop & Shop Plaza.

Runners and walkers are welcome. Runners will leave the starting line first with official timing by Spitler Race Systems of Pawtucket RI. Results will be posted on coolrunning.com.

The Captain Gerald F. DeConto Scholarship fund was started by Captain DeConto’s family after he was killed in the September 11th terrorist attack on the Pentagon. A scholarship is awarded each year from the fund to a deserving Sandwich High School senior.

Cash awards will be given to overall male and female winners.

Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals will be awarded to all age categories:
 12 and under | 13-15 | 16-19 | 20-29 | 30-39 | 40-49 | 50-59 | 60-69 | 70 and over

Race numbers and t-shirts can be picked up at the Stop & Shop Plaza 65 Rt. 6A Sandwich, MA

    at the Registration Event on Saturday September 24, 2016 10am to 5pm

    or

    before the race on Sunday September 25, 2016 starting at 7:30am

Race starts at 9:00am.
