Proceeds from the event will go to the K9 unit, Rocco, of the Crystal Police Department.

K9 Police Dog Rocco was born on November 12, 2011 in Slovakia.  The Crystal Police Department received Rocco from the St. Paul Police Department thru their K9 Program.  Rocco has served the citizens of Crystal since May, 2013.  The name Rocco stands for Ready On Command Crystal Officer.  The Crystal Police Department conducted a K9 naming contest with the elementary schools and a Kindergarten Class at Neill Elementary won the contest. 

Rocco has been trained in apprehension, tracking, and narcotic detection.  He has been a tremendous asset to the Crystal Police Department.  The City of Crystal funds most of Rocco’s necessities; however, it is necessary for the police department to fundraise due to the extensive training and equipment that is needed to keep Rocco in his job. 

Event details and schedule

Packet pick up will be on September 23, 2016 from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM at Signs In MN, 5747 W Broadway, Suite 108, Crystal, MN 55428 or you can pick up your packet the morning of the race.

Kids run will start at 8:30 AM  please check in by 8:15

5K will start at 9:00 AM please check in by 8:30

The 5K course will be around beautiful Bassett Creek Park.  

Parking will be on the street.

Runners and Walkers are encouraged to participate.  

The event will be chipped timed.  Chips must be returned at the end of the race.  If your chip is not returned you will be charged $25. 

You will receive an email within 48 hours of the finish of the race with your time and ranking. 

No Pets will be allowed.  Rocco will be there and we want him to be as calm as possible and other pets may excite him. For the safety of participants, spectators and volunteers, No pets will be allowed at this event. 

Strollers will be allowed but will be asked to start the race at the back of the pack.  

Everyone registered by September 11, 2016 will be guarnteed a T shirt.

Water and treats will be available at the end of the race.
