The 3rd Annual Desert Solstice Invitational will take place at the scenic Crooked Tree Golf Course on September 9, 2016. Come out and run one of the most unique 5k races in Southern Arizona. The race course will consist entirely of golf course grass and dirt with a large lake in the middle of the course. The course is extremely flat with a short, gradual hill that you will run twice. Bring the family to enjoy music, glow in the dark paint, great food, and an energized running atmosphere. We are expecting over 2000 race participants of all ages. We will have 11 different races ranging from elementary school through high school with a community race. The elementary and middle school aged participants will compete in a 1.5-mile race while everyone else will run a 5k (3.1 miles).
Race Choices (all of the following races will be ran together):
1). Community 5k race
2). Charter High School 5k Race
3). Community 1.5 mile race for ages 5-14
4). Elementary Team 1.5 mile race
1.5 Mile Awards
Top three male/female will receive a medal in 5 different age groups. 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14
Elementary School 1.5 Mile Team Awards:
We will give a trophy to the top male/female elementary school.
Top three male/female will receive a medal in 6 different age groups. 18 & under, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 & up.
Charter High School 5K Team Awards:
We will give a trophy to the top male/female charter high school teams.
All community participants and spectators will park on the North side of the Mountain View High School: 3901 w Linda Vista Blvd Tucson, AZ 85742
Bus Parking is available at the Crooked Tree Golf Course Parking lot. Crooked Tree Golf Course: 9101 N Thornydale Road.
The course will open at 4:00 pm for warm-ups and registration. We will have several races before the Community/Charter School Race at 7:30 pm.
T-shirts: Race shirts for all individual participants with registration. (Teams do not recieve shirts with registration)
