This is the 5th annual 9/11 Memorial 5K Run~Walk & Kids' Fun Run, a benefit for the Stephen G. Ward Memorial Scholarship Fund, started by the family of Steve Ward after losing him in the terrorist attacks on America on September 11, 2001. The scholarship in Steve's name is awarded yearly to athletic and community leaders graduating high school and moving on to fullfill their collegiate goals. In the past four years the event has enables the scholarship award to nearly double in amount. Please consider joining us to continue this amazing momentum. This year the even takes place on the 15th anniversary of 9/11/01. Please help us honor and remember Steve, and all those lost on that horrific day.
The race course is certified, the run managed and times professionally and there is a water stop and free massage and refreshments for participants. Awards given to overall finishers and for 1st and 2nd place male and female finishers in age categories. Kids' fun run is around the high school track and all competitors receive an award! Commemorative t-shirt free for first 100 registrants!
The USAT&F 5K is a rural, flat, peaceful route through residential neighborhoods. It is a loop that starts and finishes outside the Gorham Recreation Department in Gorham, Maine.

Take the Maine Turnpike to Exit 48 and follow Route 25 West to Gorham Village. At the intersection of Rt. 25 and Rt. 114, turn left onto Rt 114/South Street. Proceed past Baxter Library and take the next right onto Morrill Ave. Ball Park Rd. is the first right. :)
