ABOUT THE OMEGA FOUNDATION

The Omega Foundation is a 501c3 (EIN 77-0156724)non-profit organization that focuses on efforts to retrieve grants and other monetary contributions to provide scholarships for graduating high school seniors and undergraduate students who attain academic excellence in the Silicon ValleyArea.

In addition, the Omega Foundation Friendship 5K Run/Walk helps to fund the community outreach programs such as the Omega Leadership Association as well as the Mentoring and Tutoring Programs. These programs allow The Omega Foundation to continue being an impact on young students who may be considered “at risk.”

Event details and schedule

The race will be held on Saturday, October 1st at the beautiful Almaden Lake Park on the Los Alamitos Creek Trail. Check-in will begin at 9:00am and the Run/Walk will begin at 10:00am.

The Omega Foundation Friendship 5K Run/Walk takes place on a scenic, round trip course on Los Alamitos Creek Trail just in time to get the family out for some Fall fitness fun.

The 5K stretch will begin and end at the Almaden Lake Park. Los Alamitos Creek Trail is located in Almaden Valley and originates from the Los Capitancillos Ridge and the Santa Cruz Mountains. This creek flows through the Valley's Guadalupe Watershed, which is owned by the Santa Clara Valley Water District. The creek flows in a generally northwesterly direction after rounding the Los Capitancillos Ridge and the town of New Almaden, in the southwest corner, before ambling along the Santa Teresa Hills on northeast side of the Almaden Valley. Its environment has some relatively undisturbed areas and considerable lengths of suburban residential character.

After looping the halfway mark, participants will be ushered to the finish line by the sounds of cheering friends and great music. The event also includes the Inaugural Run/Walk T-shirt, bag and lots of other cool goodie and post-race snacks and hydration. With great local sponsors like Silicon Valley’s very own Google and Noosa Yogurt, The Omega Foundation will be making this one of Silicon Valley’s top notch annual Run/Walk events. So what are you waiting for?
