3rd Annual SWE 5K: Fall Festival...

The Society of Women Engineers' 5K is a fundraising fun run that will be held at Hillsborough River State Park. This will be our third annual 5K and the first with a theme: Fall Festival. Join us on October 1st for an exciting race, plenty of fun festival games, a raffle, and an optional costume contest! 

All proceeds will benefit the Student Section of the Society of Women Engineers at the University of South Florida. The funds raised will help the section continue their mission of promoting women in the engineering field through innovative workshops, national conferences, and superior networking, as well as community outreach that promotes STEM programs to students in middle and high school.

A portion of the funds will support our scholarship program, which helps encourage students to pursue STEM education.

7:30 am – Check-in, packet pick up, and race day registration begins

8:30 am - 5K starts

9:30 am - Race Awards, Costume Contest, and Raffle

Fall Festival games open at 7:30 am and continue throughout the event.

Event Information

Amenities: There are clean bathrooms in the main gathering area and two pavilions will host our check in, medical, and refreshment stations. A large swimming pool is also at the park. Check out this link for more information! 

Course Information: This year’s 5K course will run through breathtaking shady trails along the Hillsborough River. There are roots and uneven ground occasionally along the trail as well as wooden walkways and bridges. More information about the trail will be posted soon. There will be a water station at the course’s halfway mark.

Registration: Arrive at 7:30 am to receive your registration packet. Please bring a photo ID for registration. Walk on registration will also be available at 7:30 am and will be increased to $30 to promote pre-registration through Active.

Parking: There will be plenty of parking available near the registration area. Directional signs will be posted and volunteers will be available to help you find it!

What to Bring: Please bring a photo ID for registration. T-shirt sales will be limited on race day. However, pre-ordering will take place before through Active.com. Therefore, please remember to bring money (cash or debit/credit card accepted. Checks will not be accepted). T-shirts are $10.
