The Iron Horse Festival is an annual event held the first Saturday of October in downtown Poplar Bluff, Missouri. There are a number of family friendly activities and the kids 1 mile run, 5k and 10k race are just a few of those activities. Shirts will be provided to the first 100 participants who register for the race. Age group medals will be provided to those participants who finish in the top three age group categories listed. The age group categories are:
1 Mile Kids Run - 9 & under, 10-12, 13-15
5K - 12 & under, 13-15, 16-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+
10K - 12 & under, 13-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+
Event Weather Policy
With any outdoor event, weather may be a factor on whether or not the race will take place. Race personnel may have to cancel or delay the event in case of extreme weather or other conditions that may affect the health and safety of the participants and spectators. In the event of a cancellation, refunds will not be issued.
Parking
There should be plenty of parking at the church. Participants can park on the north side or in the rear parking lot of the church.
Race Start Times
The Kids 1 Mile run will start at 7:45 A.M. in front of the First United Methodist Church on Main Street and finish in front of the church. The 5K and 10K races will start right after the Kids 1 Mile race is completed. The 5K and 10 races will start and finished in front of the First United Methodist Church as well.
Registration
Race day registration will commence at 7:00 A.M. and will end at 7:30 A.M. Participants can register on-line at Active.com or visit the website at http://downtownpoplarbluff.org to obtain a hard copy registration form. Participants can also visit the Iron Horse Festival Facebook Page to obtain a hard copy registration form.
Payment for race day registration must be by check, money order, or cash, since we will not have the ability to process credit card payments. Please make checks and money orders payable to the Downtown Poplar Bluff.
Restrooms
The First United Methodist Church will be open for participants to use the restrooms before and after the event.
Race Routes
All race routes will be clearly marked and some locations will have volunteers to guide runners to their designated race routes.
