Experience a beautiful fall run at Lapham Peak State Park. Run on wide well-groomed, ski/hiking trails ; walk on the paved accessible trail or walk behind the runners. Strollers or wheelchairs may be used in the walk with an optional walk up wooden stairs to the Observation Tower from which several counties and lakes may be seeN. Walkers may choose to walk the 5K or 10k course also. The Smokey Fun run is a 1K event around the pond. Families of 4 or 5 should register separately if family members are NOT all doing the 5K or 10K run. Please go to our website for registration blanks or register online individually. Treats afterwards for all. Activities after the run include guided hikes for tots thru adults, the Nature Center with Kids Korner, seed gathering, and games.
The 5K run will tour the middle level of the park; the 10K course follows the outer perimeter trail. The runs start at 10:00 a.m. The Smokey Bear Fun Run [under 11 years] will encircle Homestead Hollow, and young runners will meet Smokey Bear himself. <p>
Register at Homestead Hollow Ed Trecker Lodge beginning at 8:00 a.m.; Smokey Bear Run participants may register up to the start of the fun run at 11:25.<p>
Free drawings; you must be registered by 9:45. Pick up items you may win after the run/walk.
