Description

This is a costume themed race. Prizes will be awarded for costume categories so be creative and have fun!
BUT…for safety reasons, runners will not be allowed to wear MASKS.  Anything on a runners face is allowed or disallowed at the discretion of the Race Director.

We also discourage any headsets but ask that any ear buds, at least, be kept in ONE ear only as the courses are not closed to traffic and the 10k course crosses railroad tracks. Again, this is for your safety.

Register by mail prior to October 19th at a fee of $20? or on line through midnight Monday, October 26th

Registration will be from 8:009:30 on race day inside the Sports Complex at $25.

Goodie Bags will be given to the first 250 registrants.

The fun run will be a short sprint on the adjacent fairgrounds with a participant ribbon for all entrants. The fun run starts at 9:30am.

The 5k course is flat and fast, staying on the small streets around CRMC and cutting through Suggett Park. USATF certification # NY13127JG. The 5k starts at 9:50am.

The 10k course is a mix of city streets and country roads with a flat start, a one mile climb to the top of Cosmos Hill, then downhill and a flat finish. Be sure to soak up the view at the top! USATF certification #NY13128JG. The 10k starts at 10:00am.

Long sleeved performance shirts are available for purchase for $10 preregister and race day until they are gone. Be sure to get yours early as they sold out quick last year!

Child care is available while you run with advanced reservation, donations accepted. Contact the Race Director, Shannon Anderson, for sign up information.

There will be award ceremonies for each race distance. The Complex concession stand will be open. A DJ will keep the celebration going while there are children’s activities including a bounce house.

Restrooms are available inside the JM McDonald Sports Complex. A fully staffed Concession stand will be available. The Complex does NOT allow pets inside the building so it’s probably best to leave them home for this race.

Parking will be coordinated on the Cortland County Fairground property adjacent to the Sports Complex ONLY, so as not to affect other activities going on at the complex.

From I81, Exit 12, take the Homer/Rt 11 Exit. Turn right off the exit on to Rt. 11 and travel 1 mile south, take a right on to Carroll Street (Fairgrounds Drive).

CRMC Hospital Aid sponsors a number of programs that benefit new mothers and children of all ages. One such program, Unit Support, provides sleepers, blankets, socks and other “every day” items to children that need them. The group is also one of the cosponsors of WHALE (We Have A Little Emergency), a child safety seat identification program. Aid volunteers also provide funding for the Maternity, Nursery and Pediatric Units. Through its recent fund raising efforts, CRMC Hospital Aid has provided money for the purchase of new equipment for these units, including an infant warmer for the Nursery, a pediatric blood pressure monitor for Pediatrics, a lighted microscope for Maternity, and the “Hugs” child protection system, and a birthing simulator.
