Come join the Westland Area Jaycees in a fun run to honor our veterans. We will walk and run the streets of the All American city behind some local military units as they sing cadence through the town. Come out and have a great day out with the family and provide assistance to our local area heroes! All day activities will be held after the race. This year, the Jaycees will partner with the Veterans of Westland as we work together to provide resources and programs for area veterans.

Registration for the 5K is $30. Children 12 and under accompanied by a registered running adult are free but will not receive a t-shirt. Additional shirts can be purchased at $16.

**NEW this year is a Kid Run (roughly a mile) for those 12 and under. Registration is $12 which includes a shirt, bib and small participation medal.

Baby Joggers are allowed but must go in final waive.  There will be 3 waves, first waive will be military units running in formation followed by a second wave for runners and competitive walkers and then a final waive for all other participants.

**ALSO NEW this year is the Virtual Veterans 5K. This is for those who can’t make it the day of the event for whatever reason and would still like to participate. Registration for the virtual is $25 which includes medal, bib and shipping. Shirts are not included but can be purchased for an additional cost of $16. Times do not need to be sent in to obtain your medal and bib, this is a honor system. Participants that register by Oct. 1st will be guaranteed medals and for those after Oct 1st while be on an availability basis (same for additional shirts). Bibs and medals will be sent out after Oct. 22nd.

Registrations received by OCT 1 will receive a participant T-Shirt and Participant Medal. Registrations received after OCT 1 will receive both on an availability basis.

 The race starts at 9am sharp with the military units running in formation in the first wave followed by additional waves for runners and then for walkers. It is strongly suggested that you try to be there by 8AM to account for road closure, parking, and any opening ceremonies. The race will start and end at Thomas H. Brown Central City Park
