CCB is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) statewide consumer organization.  Its members are blind, low vision, and fully sighted individuals who are concerned about the dignity and well-being of people with visual impairments throughout the state.  Formed in 1934, the Council has become the largest organization of people with visual impairments in California.

Through a variety of programs and services, CCB enables people who are blind or have low vision to live and work independently and to participate in their own communities.  The Council has influenced change in such areas and issues as civil rights, employment, rehabilitation, transportation, environmental access, travel, recreation, Social Security, and other benefits.

CCB receives no government funding and relies on private donations to continue to carry on the organization’s programs and services.

Money raised from this year’s event will assist in the operation of CCB’s valuable resources and programs which have benefited many people with visual impairments throughout the years.
