Dia de los Muertos 5k

 _ 2016 Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) Festival and 5K Walk/Run:

This race was created by the Walker's Point Association of Milwaukee to be paired with the FREE festival taking place on the same day. Both events are aimed at honoring the loss of loved ones and bringing together the Milwaukee community by celebrating life and the loss of life. By painting faces, creating ofrendas (or altars), sharing photos, and eating favorite foods this day does just that! 

What to expect on race day? 10 a.m. begins pre-race registration and at 12 p.m. the race will begin. Around 1 p.m. the race ends and there will be an awards presentation, followed by post-race refreshments (bananas, oranges, water, and beer!). At 1 p.m. the festival will also start.
