Rodeo Round Up: 5K Run/Walk, Chili Cook Off, and Car Show!...

• 5K Run / Walk:- Run 3.1 Miles

The 5K walk/run begins promptly on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 9:30am. Register through active.com through Friday, October 7, 11:59pm or register on the same day of the race at the starting booth. The cost is only $25 for either online or same-day registration (now that's a deal!). Please bring cash for same-day registration.

Five reasons you should come to the 2016 Rodeo Round Up:

1. Stroll through local neighborhoods.
2. Receive a uniquely-designed T-shirt.
3. Sample each of the entries for the Chili Cook Off competition, and vote for the Crowd Favorite.
4. Gaze at colorful, classic cars.
5. Mingle with our small-town community.

Local vendors will be serving a wide variety of chili dishes at Lefty Gomez Park from 10:00am to 3:00pm. Sample each of the entries for the Chili Cook Off competition, and vote for the Crowd Favorite.

The course is flat for the first half-mile, then heads up a hill for about a quarter-mile on Hawthorne Avenue, and then heads downhill for another mile, and finally flattens out for the rest of the run (with a slight hill or two).

After you finish your walk or run, show your bib number to organizers at the main ticket booth located just after the finish line within Lefty Gomez Park and you will receive a group of bonus individual tickets to the Chili Cook Off competition tasting.

All proceeds fund the Youth Parks & Recreation Programs in Rodeo.

5K Race/Walk Registration:	Registration for the 5K Run/Walk will be located at the intersection of Parker Avenue and Investment Street. The race will start on the Rodeo Creek trail just up the street.
Chili Cook Off:	The Chili Cook Off and Car Show will take place at Lefty Gomez Field (after the run, starting at 10:00am and ending around 3:00pm).

Fees:  $25** Entry fee includes event T-Shirt and entry into the Chili Cook Off. Even if you or your family cannot participate in the 5K Run/Walk, we encourage everyone to attend the Chili Cook Off. You may sign up for the race on active.com (which takes credit cards) or in person on the day of race with cash only.
