The South Euclid United Church of Christ (SEUCC) presents the inaugural South Euclid 5K Fun Run - an event created to encourage the members of SEUCC, our City of South Euclid neighbors, and interested parties from Greater Cleveland to embrace healthy behaviors and fitness. Our desire is to create a fun and enjoyable experience for families and individuals of all ages and fitness levels. Additionally, the South Euclid FUN Run is a fund raising event with all proceeds being used to establish a South Euclid Freedom School at the SEUCC campus.
Freedom Schools programs are done in partnership with The Children’s Defense Fund based in Washington, DC. They seek to build strong, literate, and empowered children prepared to make a difference in themselves, their families, communities, nation and world today. By providing summer enrichment for children who might otherwise not have access to books, the Freedom School program plays a much needed role in helping to curb summer learning loss and close achievement gaps.
The event includes two races, a 5K and a 1 mile distance, with a course through the City of South Euclid. The races may be completed by individuals or families/teams with medals being awarded to the top three finishers at the 5K distance in the following male/female age groups: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
A post race celebration will include refreshments for all participants. An award ceremony will conclude the event.
