Please join us in running or walking our picturesque paved path 5k course through Allentown's Cedar Beach Park West & Rose Garden to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society during Blood Cancer Awareness Month. The path is a closed loop which runners will circle twice. Start time is 4pm on Saturday, 9/24 and participants are to arrive by 3:30 to allow for time to pick up race bibs (this is a timed event), shirts, and bags. The race start and finish area is adjacent to the Park pavillions along Honochik Drive (just west of Ott Street). Bathroom facilities are available.
Age groups awards for Men and Women: under 12, 13-20. 21-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over.
Post race water, bagels, and bananas provided to participants. There will also be BBQ provided by The Smoke Factory BBQ and Shaved Ice by Kona Ice for purchase with a portion of proceeds going toward the LLS.
At 5pm, Obe Roundtree and Trainers from Full Circle Training will be facilitating a 45 minute boot camp on the field for anyone who is seeking a full body workout. The boot camp fee is $10.
All runners/walkers are encouraged to bring family and friends to cheer them on and stay for the post race festivities as Mike and Steph from B104 will be on throughout the race and at 6pm the Billy Baur band will perform on the stage. The event concludes at 7pm. A fun event for everyone for a great cause during Blood Cancer Awareness month.
