Save the Day 5K

 - Dust off your capes and slip into those tights, Harrisburg, PA.  Registration is now open for the Save the Day 5K!

The National Inclusion Project is hosting its first annual 5K event and one-mile fun run/walk in Harrisburg, PA!! In addition to the race, we’ll have a kids’ zone and music making this event the ideal block party and fun for all ages! A hero theme sets the stage as we work together to support inclusion within our community and beyond! We encourage everyone to get into character by dressing up as their favorite hero.

Who are your heroes?
Heroes come in many forms.  For some, it's their local firemen and police officers.  For others, it's Captain America. Our heroes at the National Inclusion Project are children, parents, and advocates living with and working to make inclusion the expectation and not the exception. Whomever your hero is, let that show! Costumes are optional, but highly encouraged. Top costume winners will receive a prize following the close of both races.

Why should I participate in the Save the Day 5K and/or 1-Mile Fun Run?
1. EVERY finisher receives a medal!
2. Proceeds benefit children with and without disabilities to be able to grow, learn, and play TOGETHER.
3. Free beer for all registrants aged 21+ (with valid photo ID).
4. Runners/walkers will randomly receive prizes throughout the event. 
5. All ages and abilities are WELCOME to participate at their level!
6. Kids' Zone with lots of GREAT activities
7. Block party with music

9. Costume contest: show us who your hero is
10. But best of all - Have a great time while giving back in the community around you. It's a win-win!

Parking

Free parking is available on City Island and in The Pinnacle Health Brady Visitor Parking Garage just north of the Shipoke neighborhood at 111 South Front Street.  A limited amount of free on street parking is available on Front Street in Shipoke behind the Comfort Inn, as well as in the rear parking lot of the Comfort Inn at 525 South Front Street.  Street parking and parking garages are available in downtown Harrisburg, but please note that some of those parking locations may have a charge.
