Children ages 5-14 will have the opportunity to join our program and train for a 5K race along with their 'team members'! The program will focus on proper warm up, stretching, form, breathing, pacing, and cool down. Each session will last approx 1 hour and include post run stretching and fitness and healthy lifestyle discussions. Each ‘runner’ will be placed in a group with others of similar age and ability. The groups are coached by experienced adult runners from the NWBRRC and is under the overall direction of Head Coach Melissa Schwartz Hinton, USATF Level 1 Certified Running Coach
All children should wear suitable running shoes and clothing (dri-fit shirts and shorts are recommended for the Florida heat), bring a water bottle and towel to each session.
