We know that you are committed to making a difference in Onslow County, as is the Star of Life Club and the Coastal Carolina Community College Foundation.  Both strive to make the lives of area citizens enriched through our many programs we offer throughout the year.  In Onslow County our organizations fundraising efforts go directly to the needs of Coastal Carolina Community College students, the foundation assists in many ways:

• Emergency Assistance, the college foundation operates an emergency assistance program for currently enrolled students who have paid their current semester’s tuition bill and are not in debt to the college.  Students experiencing a current or unforeseen emergency may apply for assistance. Eligible emergency situations expenses include overdue utility bills, rent in past due status, medical bill for uninsured necessary procedures, destruction of living quarters, theft, assistance for food, and childcare.

• Tuition Assistance, funds are awarded to students who are in need of financial assistance to cover the cost of their tuition.  Students who apply are eligible for over 100 scholarships sponsored by the generous community of Eastern North Carolina.  The majority of our students who are awarded scholarships do not receive any other financial aid.

• Book Loan Program, through a generous gift along with other outside donations the College Foundation is able to provide over 200 books a semester.  Students who receive these books are unable to purchase them through the college bookstore due to financial hardships.

Currently, we are planning the first Running Dead Zombie Trauma Fun Run event to be held on the campus of Coastal Carolina Community College on Saturday, October 15 at 5:00 p.m. This event will bring together many professionals and companies to raise money to support our mission.  

Event details and schedule

Check-In and Day of Registration- 4:00 p.m.

Kids Fun Run- 5:00 p.m.

5K- 6:00 p.m.

The event will start at the Math and Science Building located on Coastal Carolina Community College's campus.
