Get Sandy 4 Scouts is a non-timed 5K (3.1 mile) Fun Run/Walk taking place on the beach at the beautiful Atlantic Beach along Crystal Coast. The event starts and ends on the beach front of the spectaular Doubletree by Hilton Resort. The surface is sand and may be uneven with a 1.5 route heading east towards Fort Macon turning around and finishing at the DoubleTree resort. Enjoy rolling waves and gentle breezes while breathing in the crisp salt air. The event is to promote and raise funds for local boy scouts within Eastern North Carolina. It cost $300 a year per scout to maintain programs, scout camp facilities, summer camps, awards/badges, etc...Scouting teaches boys to be respectful towards people and the environment. Through a variety of community projects each year such as; beach clean ups, Scouting for Food to collect food items from residences taking them to local food banks, volunteer at local charities like soup kitchens and food pantries. They learn life skills while giving back to the community, along with basic outdoor survial skills obtained from various camping experiences.

Event details and schedule

9:00-9:45 a.m.: registration and packet pick-up

10:00 a.m.: 5K Run/Walk begins

11:00 a.m.: Door Prizes/Entertainment

12:00 p.m.: Event ends

What to Bring/Wear

Running shoes (barefoot is optional, however we are not responsible for any injuries)

Water/sports drink (water is provided at half-way point and post run)

Change of clothes

Sunscreen

Sunglasses/hat

Positive Attitude and a Big Smile

Parking will be at the Doubletree resort with registration/packet pick-up at the deck of Molly's Seaside Bar & Grill: Event will start/end on the beach front in front of Molly's.
