Equalizer Endurance Run

• Equalizer Endurance Run - 6, 12 and 24 Hour:- Ultra Distance

This is an ultra running event.  We have race formats of 6, 12 and 24 hours.  This event is designed for three purposes.  First, it will provide an opportunity for new and veteran runners to test themselves in an ultra distrance race.  Second, performances will be scored using an age/sex 'equalizer' factor providing the possibility of an overal victory to anyone who is normally competitive in their age group.  The factors are determined based on age and gender.  Overall awards will be distributed based on the total actual distance plus the appropriate equalizer.  Third, everyone has fun, and we do mean everyone!

The course is a 1.905 mile paved loop around Gray's Lake.  It is very scenic and flat with very few rolling hills.

Gray's Lake in Des Moines is located north of the Des Moines airport.  In today's age, it likely easier for you to map 2101 Fleur Drive, Des Moines, IA.

We give out hoodies for race shirts provided you register by 9/16.  We give out awards to the top 10 in each race format based on the equalized distance.  We also give out overall distance winner in each format.

With the trail being a loop around Gray's Lake, accessibility to your vehicle, camp, gear, tent, family is always within easy reach.  Cars are parked very near to the race site and we allowed to set up camps just off the trail, so this is a convenient way to run an ultra.
