- High5EM is hosting the Inaugural Sweets N’ Sweats 5K Run or Walk to benefit the Amesbury Youth Recreation Dept. What better way to spend a fall October morning post race, than in cozy sweatpants munching on something sweet and savory? Sweets N’ Sweats will provide an opportunity to participate in a non-competitive, family style event, with a focus on FUN! Upon finishing the race, you’ll choose from a variety of mouthwatering sweets to indulge in from an array of participating sponsors providing chocolates, popcorn, cookies, cupcakes, and ice-cream. There will be cotton candy making, kid’s candy necklace making and more.

Course Info

Fast and flat 5K. One short hill at mile 2.8.
There will be one water station available at the turn around point.

Directions

GPS: 80 High Street for the actual event location.

From I-495 N: Take exit #54 (Rt. 150) onto Rt. 150 Ext. toward Amesbury. Drive for 1.1 mi, until Rt. 150 becomes Greenleaf Street. After .2 mile, turn right onto Friend Street. Turn left onto Whitehall Road, then right onto High Street. Drive for .2 mile – access is on the left.

From I-95 N: Take exit #58B (Rt. 110 W) onto Macy Street (Rt. 110) toward Amesbury. Drive for .4 mile, then turn right onto Elm Street. After 1.7 miles, bear right onto Market Square, then continue onto High Street for .4 mile. Access is on the right.

Race Day Registration: Packet pick-up (race day only), race day registration opens at 8:30am

Parking: There will be limited parking at Lake Gardner. We encourage arriving at least 60 minutes prior to the race. There is parking at the Amesbury Town Park municipal lot at 37 Friend Street in Amesbury. Parking will also be available in and around the downtown Amesbury, Market Square area or at 12 Market Street at the parking garage or Cashman School (193 Lions Mouth Rd.) Please park only in designated areas. Vehicles parked in areas with No Parking signs will be towed.

Weather: This event will happen rain or shine.

Race Fee Refunds: We do not offer refunds for events.

Beneficiary: 100% net proceeds will be allocated to the Amesbury Youth Recreation Dept (scholarships for new programs)
